Lahore Sewer Blast Leaves Four Injured; Cause Unknown
LAHORE:
Four people were injured on Saturday after a sewer line explosion in Lahore’s Lari Adda area, according to Rescue 1122 officials.
The blast occurred in the Badami Bagh locality, where emergency responders arrived promptly and provided medical assistance to the injured. Three victims were shifted to Mayo Hospital for further treatment, while one person was treated on the spot.
Those hospitalised were identified as Imtiaz (35), Zafar (60) and Rashid (44). Rescue officials said all injured individuals were stabilised before being transported to the government hospital.
Authorities said the cause of the explosion could not be determined immediately.
The incident comes just days after a separate tragedy in Lahore, where a woman and her infant daughter lost their lives after falling into an uncovered manhole near Data Darbar during ongoing development work. The woman’s body was recovered from the sewerage system near Outfall Road, while the child’s body was found after a 16-hour search operation.
