Trump imposes 25 percent tariff on countries trading with Iran
Washington:
Amid rising tensions between the US and Iran, US President Donald Trump has announced tough economic measures against countries doing business with Iran.

According to the US President, any country trading with Iran will have to pay an additional 25 percent tariff on all trade activities with the US.

President Trump made it clear in his statement on social media that this decision will take effect immediately and there will be no relaxation in it. He said that countries that will maintain business relations with Iran should prepare themselves for additional financial burden in the US market. According to sources, this announcement has come at a time when anti-government protests in Iran have intensified and there is global concern over the crackdown by security forces.

US human rights organizations claim that 648 people have lost their lives in the protests over the past two weeks.

President Trump has previously warned the Iranian government that the use of force against protesters could have serious consequences.

In a recent statement, he also indicated that the United States is considering various options against Iran, including the option of military action.
